Save Supertubes|J-Bay | Campaigns

When the crew at www.savesupertubes.com heard of the erf 76 development, we immediately launched the erf76 campaign. Our personal opinion is Jeffreys Bay should never get exploited and robbed of its unique natural beauty.

If you wish to still post an objection, and missed the cut off date you can still do so. Please note that your objection will add to the list outlining what makes 'JBay Special' so give a good point to why you object.

Development is good for the overall community and if  the development creates jobs and brings revenue and tourists into Jeffreys Bay, Great!!

We are sure you agree. Every now and then someone will try to push the boundary, it is guaranteed.

The question to ask is " Will it be worth taking away the natural beauty and image of JBay that has made this town world renowned for a few massive blocks of concrete with some decoration on it, to create a few jobs but impact the rest of the town and the surrounding environment? "

You decide!

Erf 76 - Save Supertubes - Jeffreys Bay:

This campaign painted a clear picture of how the 'world' sees
Jeffreys Bay!

Posted in the Our Times (This post raised tremendous international outrage)

Page 21, Miscellaneous Land Use Applications:

"The council has received : An application for departure on erf 76, Jeffrey's Bay in terms of Section 15 of Ordinance 15 of 1985 to exceed allowable height and F.A.R. to erect a 15 storey building."
This is on the corner of Diaz Road and Swart Street, (Times square building) It's Saturday morning, so I'll go to the municipality on Monday morning to get more info. I reckon the owners probably want to pop another eleven storeys on top of the existing building, which is pretty much on the max. permissible height (11,5m or 13m, depending on the zoning)
"Motivated objections, if any, against the applications, must be lodged in writing, to reach the undersigned not later than 21 days after publication of this notice. PH Wilson, acting municipal manager PO Box 21 Jeffrey's Bay 6330."

The international response received in less than 2 weeks was incredible.

If you are against JBay getting over-built and feel that the unique natural beauty is what makes Jeffreys Bay - Jeffreys Bay. Tell us about your point of view.

Fill in the form and let us know what your point of view is on coastal development and maybe suggest some positive ideas that can help preserve pristine coastline.
